Puppy Training - Best Ways to Train Your Dog

When a newly born puppy comes, he needs the basic trainings especially during the first few weeks. This period for the puppy in home is really critical to cope with. Firstly the surrounding of the puppy must be kept clean as much as possible to avoid skin infections or health break. Then the set up needs few items like a crate or soft bed, separate feeding bowl for food and water, leash, collar, puppy chow, toys and balls for playing etc. besides all these, there must be a supportive and affectionate family to get along with the new set up, rules and responsibilities.

The first few weeks are awfully important for their health course. Puppies need lot of rest and sleep. They should never get flooded with constant activities and playing. Rather, it's better to leave puppies alone when they look sleepy after a gentle playing. Primarily everyone shows tremendous excitement concern and care for the puppy but later on, in most cases, they hardly get attention the much they require.

Puppies learn everything very quickly with proper instructions. It is very important to maintain the feeding time of the puppy else he will get confused with the feeding time and will start whining whenever feel hungry. Also the owner should maintain the separate bowl to feed the puppy and thus the puppy will get habituated and restricted in taking food from elsewhere. It is strongly prohibited to be with the puppy day and night, they should leave alone most of the time and thus the puppy will get used to it from the very beginning. Since puppies easily get influenced, it is better to implement the trainings right away by restricting them to get away with anything.

Puppy should never be treated with harsh commands. Instead the training should be given through a playful gentle and affectionate manner. They must be surrounded with a playful environment with balls and toys and chewing stuffs and must be encouraged to play with them. These are good for their jawbones and teeth. During this age, every puppy is prone to chew furniture shoes socks or whatever he gets in front. They should instantly get restricted from doing this mischief with a firm command "NO" and immediately given his own toy or chewing stuff with a command to chew on it.

A consistent medical care should be taken to have a healthy puppy. Puppies are very much susceptible to various diseases. Hence, they must undergo a course of vaccination. Until they are fully vaccinated and declared safe by the veterinarian, they should never be allowed to go outside.

Now after a few weeks when the puppy turns into a well mannered adult dog, it is time for him to get formal behavioral training to socialize with others in a civilized manner. Dogs that are kept leashed all the time and not get familiarized with other people or animals, become more furious aggressive and extremely fearful.

Thus from a newly born puppy can become a trained well mannered and civilized grown up dog if proper care and training is given throughout his life.
