Puppy Training - Dog Obedience Training

As soon as you get a dog the training should start. The perfect age to start any training from is usually eight months. That is when puppies are mature enough to get the hang of everything. All you need is the right kind of approach that you should have to nail anything that you start with. Dog obedience training is not rocket science, you can get whatever you want to if you only apply your mind at right place.

Experts believe that the start should be taken with the simplest commands like for example 'sit'. The best way to train a dog in this command is perhaps to say sit to the dog and then push it down a little bit. As dogs do not know what you are talking about and they can get your language the best way to go about it is to show it to him exactly what you mean. After a little while the dog will finally understand that by saying the word sit you actually mean sit. But don't introduce all sorts of commands in your training routine. The best commands to start with would be 'sit' or 'come'. Give each command at least two weeks before moving on to the next command because dogs find it difficult to follow commands easily. Whenever a dog follows your command give him due attention and of course a good reward if you can. Every dog likes a reward. They would do anything to get your attention and reward. Just start with the simplest commands and move on to the difficult ones which the dogs might feel hard to comply with.

Puppy training should not be rushed at all, these are small dogs, and they can't be expected to learn everything that you think they should learn in a matter of days or so. You have to be extremely gentle with dogs and give them a light hand when they are being trained. You should take one command at a time if you really want your little dog not to be bewildered and you want the training to be done well. Always demonstrate in front of your dog how you want him to behave because that is exactly the way you should keep it. Just repeat the command when she's actually following your command. Never repeat if the dog is not following your commands.

Always reward her with one of their favorite treats. And be sure to reward her generously as you go through dog obedience training. Anything like their favorite toy or a thing to eat would actually do with the dog and chances are that he's going to try and follow your commands next time as well so that he gains your recognition.
