Stop Dog Chewing Problem

Is your dog's destructive chewing problem becoming annoying?

Many dog owners have problems with their dog chewing and destroying items in their homes such as chairs, mats, shoes, carpets and even clothing.

However, getting angry with your dog and yelling is not the solution. Dogs naturally like to chew and even more so when they are puppies. It is your responsibility to keep your dog from chewing house items and let it know what it is okay to chew.

Many dogs have a chewing habit due to being lonely, bored, curious or even because of dental problems. It is important to know what is causing your dogs chewing problem.

You can tell if your dog has a dental problem if it chews mainly on the side of its mouth or you notice tarter build up on the teeth and bad breath.

Many dogs, especially puppies, are curious just like babies and require lots of supervision. If this is your case then make sure that your dog or puppy is supervised or start crate training to make sure your puppy stays out of trouble.

Many dogs have a chewing problem due to boredom or loneliness. Make sure that you are taking your dog out for walks and play daily and that when you are not home or busy that your dog has many chewing toys.

You can stop dog chewing, but you must be aware of what your dog's problem is. Most importantly, make sure you buy your dog many chewing toys and if your dog is crate trained then that you have many toys in the crate as well.
