How long does the training last? It takes a while for a puppy to be fully trained as they need some time to mature. Does the dog trainer only work on one specific thing or do they cover it all? Do they do routine follow ups? Keep in mind price is going to be a factor in this option.

2. Take your puppy to school.

Some pet stores offer programs for new puppy owners. The class may meet once or twice a week and there are other puppies and owners there too. The downside to this is that you have to commit yourself to showing up at the classes every time in order to get the benefits or it could be a waste of your money. Also, the other puppies may be too much of a distraction for your own pup.

3. Train your puppy yourself.

Training your puppy yourself can be very frustrating and yet very rewarding. It will definitely build up the bond you two share.
