But remember that none of these items can act as a substitute for proper caring for a new puppy.

The most embarrassing problem a puppy owner faces is when the puppy accidentally relieves itself on brand new sofas and any other inconvenient places at inconvenient occasion such as the person hosting a party to the friends. So the first step should be potty training. Make a schedule for the activities of the puppy, like getting up, potty using, taking food, and any other daily activities. It is up to the owner to make the puppy strictly stick to the schedule. Do not hesitate to provide mild punishments whenever it strays. Do not become too sympathetic or proper caring for the new puppy will go astray.

Next thing is to define spaces. If you do not want your puppy to enter into a particular portion of your house, prevent it from entering there at the beginning. Mildly punish if it tries to enter. Small wired or plastic gates for blocking the puppies are available in the market. This training must be rigorous so that the puppy will quickly know where to enter and where not to enter. Proper caring for a new puppy involves encouraging it when it does something good and mildly punishing it when it does something wrong, in a manner that can be understood by the animal.

Another important thing is caring for a new puppy is to keep small objects, like coins, pen, watches, and cigarette lighters away from the reach of the puppy. These animals have a tendency to eat whatever they can get, particularly when they are hungry. Also, one should periodically take these animals to a veterinary doctor.
