Resources For Finding a Yorkie Rescue

By Susan Bailey

It is sometimes very sad the situations that some inhumane people can put Yorkshire Terriers in. If you know of a Yorkie that has been abused or abandoned then it is up to you to contact a Yorkie rescue to get the dog the help it needs and a second chance at a good life. Sometimes finding a Yorkie rescue can be a little complicated but if you know where to look then it is not that bad. A couple of phone calls can be a lifesaver to a Yorkie in need.

Your vet is always a great place for any information concerning the well being and humane treatment of pets, so be sure to try your vet for information on the closest Yorkie rescue. If you do not have a vet then just find one in the phone book or visit the vet closest to you and let them give you that contact information that can mean everything to that little dog.

Your local newspaper has been a beacon for the collection of important community information for many years and that information includes local animal rescue groups like Yorkie rescue. Sometimes the local paper will even go so far as to publish this information on a regular basis as a resource for people who need it but even if they do not publish this information it is probably a very good bet that they have the Yorkie rescue contact information that you need.

Local law enforcement also acts as sort of a collection place for important local information and they may be able to help you find contact information for the local Yorkie rescue. Many people never think of asking law enforcement such information but if they have collected that information over the years then they would be more than happy to give it to you so you can help a poor dog get the help it needs.

Many people neglect to use the Internet for local searches, but the Internet can be a great resource even for local organizations. In some cases local Yorkie rescue groups will host websites that can contain very helpful information for you. If there are no local Yorkie rescue then there may be national groups that have local offices that they can get you in contact with and help you to work with. It never hurts to check the Internet for any information you may need at any level.

Do not let a pet be abused or abandoned. With just a simple use of resources you can mean the difference to some poor pet between a shelter and worse or a second chance at life. It only takes a couple of phone calls to find the information you need so take the time to get the dog the help it needs and you have done a wonderful thing.
