Make Your Chihuahua Seem 12 Feet Tall With a Real Tough Dog Name

By Mark Angelo Encarnacion

Dogs are, as the clich้ goes, man's best friend. And because of this we tend to give our dogs the most interesting names to endear them to us even more. The more unique the name of our dogs, the better they make us feel because it makes us feel that they are the only one of their kind in the world. And the joy we get when we see our dogs respond to the name we give them is something almost out of a fairy tale. It's a really magical feeling and it really makes you want to have a pet even more!

But when we do manage to get our pets names, we think of a lot of considerations. First off we think of the sentimental things that could effect our choices of names. Do we want to name our dogs after our relatives or influential people in our lives? I've known several people who named their favorite pets 'George' or 'Bill' in honor of their favorite politicians. And of course, names like 'Napoleon' and 'Caesar' have long been in existence. And then my neighbors also named their two Golden Retrievers 'Maggie' and 'Bruce' in honor of the parents of the woman of the house.

But of course, another big consideration in naming your dogs is their appearance. If you have a little dog, then most probably you'd be ending up with cute and funny names like 'Candy' or 'Foo Foo' or 'Speedy'. But with bigger dog breeds like Mastiffs, Rottweilers, or Great Danes you can expect some really tough sounding names like 'Bruiser', 'Killer', 'Tornado' and 'Bonesaw'. Your big dog may be the gentlest dog in the world but the name really does a lot for intimidation purposes!

But who says tough sounding names are only for the big boys? For the purposes of fun and intimidation, you can easily name your little Mini Schnauzer or Toy Poodle such hair-raising names as 'Titan' or 'Gladiator'. At least in name you can find your dog to be a real terror! Playing around with dog names can even get you out of sticky situations where you appear to be calling for an enormous hell-hound. The person who is bugging you would have probably left before your little Chihuahua comes out to play!

There are a lot of other innovative names that you can use, especially the big and tough ones. If you want more dog name ideas, go to:
