1. Determine whether everyone in the house wants to have a dog.
Children and spouses can pressure you into having a dog. To have someone you love beg to have a dog and also offer to take care of the dog. This can be a determining factor in getting a dog. It usually means there will be problems. It will not work and the dog will be the loser.

They can be depressed and behaviors not wanted will occur. They can become agitated . This could cause excessive barking, aggressiveness and other problems.
5. Consider the cost of vet bills. It can cost more to take your dog to the vet than for you to go to the doctor. If you are a responsible pet owner. You will need to take them to the vet for shots and any illnesses. Then there is still the cost of food, grooming supplies and other items.
