Scientific studies show that puppies respond to external touch when they are in their mother's womb. A puppy can be studied extensively while it is still in its mother's womb from as early as the fourth week of gestation. It has been propounded that a puppy has a profound sense of touch even as a fetus due to its highly developed motor skills.

You need to be ready to take care of a dog if you really want to have one. Dogs require a lot of care both emotionally and financially. Dog's food on an average costs at most ten dollars a month.

Part of training your dog is to let it know when it has done something wrong. You use consistent words to let your dog know when it was blundered such as 'try again' or oh-oh. Make sure that your dog knows when it has done right or wrong.

There are a variety of dog training tools in the market that can make your dog training sessions easier. An example of a dog training tool is the clicker. The clicker is a plastic box with a metal tongue that clicks when it is depressed and is used to effectively train dogs. Some dogs respond to a clicker command more than others because of their nature.

The training sessions for your dog must be reliably consistent if you are to make any headway in training it successfully. Make sure that your dog knows when its training period is coming up so that it can get ready for it. Each training session should have a goal to help make it fun for you and your dog.

Teaching your dogs how to do a couple of tricks should a fun process. Don't force your dog to learn how to perform tricks or else it will end up performing tricks automatically. You will want to make sure that your dog enjoys learning the tricks that you teach it because that way, it will learn how to execute them joyfully.

Taking care of a dog involves giving it love, care, food...and training. Without training, a dog is liable not to recognize its limits and may actually end up taking you for granted. A safe and secure environment for your dog will ensure that it is trained successfully.
