Cure Rover's Allergies For Less Than $1

By Elizabeth Day

Last summer my chihuahua had a sinus infection and had to take antibiotics. When his infection cleared, I had to give him vet prescribed allergy medicine to control his constant licking of his legs and he still had severe nasal congestion. The medicine made him drowsy and yet he couldn't sleep lying down for any length of time. He was a pretty miserable dog.

I had a head cold this past winter and a friend suggested I try apple cider vinegar to clear my congestion. Since nothing else worked, I decided to try it. It didn't take long for my head to clear. There might not be a cure for the common cold but apple cider vinegar is the next best thing and less expensive than all the cold medicines on the market.

When Taco's allergies started again this spring I decided to give him a little apple cider vinegar. I know you can put a little acv in a bird's drinking water so I figured it wouldn't hurt him. I started by putting a couple of drops in his drinking water. Every morning I would give him fresh water with a couple of drops of acv. It took a while for Taco to get used to drinking it.

It is now mid-summer and his allergies seem to be worse so I gave it to him with a dropper. I could see a difference in him within a couple of hours. He no longer licks his legs and his congestion has cleared.

I can't tell you what a miracle I think this is. Taco is not suffering and I don't have to spend money I don't have on a vet bill. You can buy the expensive, fancy type of apple cider vinegar over the internet or the cheap variety from the dollar store. I used the cheap acv and it worked for me. I poo pooed the idea that something as simple and cheap as apple cider vinegar would help with congestion or allergies. I'm glad I tried it.
