The Key to Owning a Dog

By David M Starikov

I am a professional dog trainer and have always loved dogs. They are truly beautiful creatures with an innocence that is unbelievable. Dogs are great and if you have a dog or are thinking of getting a dog then this article will give you some important and useful information.

Dog training is the most important thing you can do with your dog When you train your dog you develop a stronger bond with the dog and you become alpha in your dogs eyes. Alpha means number one or leader of the pack. It's important to be alpha because then your dog looks at you with respect and listens to you when you tell him no.

The reason why so many dogs end up in shelters is because of lack of dog training and if you take the time to train your dog then you could have the dog that you always wanted and even save your dogs life.

The key to owning a dog is balancing the needs of yourself with the needs of your dog If you get a dog and don't educate yourself on what the dog needs or don't take action when you know what's right then you should not have a dog

If you get a dog because you want someone to give love to or you want a companion then you must remember that giving your dog affection comes last. Exercise and discipline come first if you want a dog that wont drive you crazy. After you exercise your dog and show him that you are alpha then it's ok to give your dog lots of affection and love. That's what I mean about balancing your own needs with your dogs.

If you love dogs then do whats best for them, and you. Otherwise getting a dog will only create problems for you and the dog.

If you want more dog training advice from the long time pros then as a professional dog trainer I recommend the ebook..."Dog Obedience Training Secrets To Stop Your Dogs Problem Behaviors".
