Dog Beds - They Are Made and Designed For Comfort

By Jennifer Akre

Who doesn't love a little comfort? You like a soft place to lie in when napping or at night, well so does your dog. What he needs are dog beds, it is as important as your own bed. It is private space for your dog, where he can be comfortable, warm and feel safe.

There are some guidelines to follow when you are choosing which one is right for your dog. These guidelines ensure that both you and your pet are happy with the choice that you have made.

Comfort of your dog: You want your dog to feel comfortable in it, especially more than your sofa or your bed! There are many soft and comfortable dog beds available on the market today. Flat and soft cushion ones are ideal.

Size of the bed: There should be plenty of space for your dog, but you also don't want it too big. The dog should feel comfortable enough to move around but should not feel as if he is in a wide open space. A couple inches on either side of the dog is ideal.

Durability: Dog beds could easily tear apart if your dog is restless, so make sure that the option you choose is both durable and long lasting. There are chew proof ones available for your dog that can't seem to help himself and there are also metal frame selections available for the dog that always seems to be on a hyper-rush.

Washable: Don't choose a very big or heavy design as they are sometimes very difficult to wash. Remember that it will often get dirty and hairy so it should be able to be washed easily. Some dog beds come with removable covers, making this job easier.

There are many different shaped dog beds; round, square, even sofa shaped. You should choose it according to the room where you want to put it. A round pad would go well next to a fireplace, a square one in a corner or a sofa shaped one right next to your own sofa! It's really a matter of personal preference. When choosing, be aware of the color and design, you don't want an ugly one in your formal living room!

You like comfort and security, why wouldn't your dog as well?
